I wanted to leave that last post where it was and just sort of give some more time for others to post—I think namely ezzelin and Ace? I think the others have posted? But, I'm bored, so.
Looking at the player list, I guess it's too early to have any definitive thoughts. Nothing has actually happened, unless you want to go by players receiving or not receiving quirks (I really hope everyone gets to do at least one! ;w;!). Which... I guess does reveal some things. Hmm.
I had a thought a moment ago I was going to pursue, but I seem to have lost it. What... even was it. I remember thinking it when I read Cure's pun about Tet Cruz, which reminded me that the two of them have an avatar from the same drawing. Actually, I was in mafia chat with Cure when she made that drawing and I saw some of the variations. The background color had some options of a different shade of red and/or pink, and I think there was a blue option as well, but none of us really liked that, honestly. We kind of just settled on telling her to go for the pink—which I think she liked the most anyway, but she's the type of person that enjoys second opinions. I think we all enjoy that, really.
That mafia chat was so amusing. We didn't hear much from alcasync—where is she recently, I wonder?—nor really much of Dylan since he died so early. Man, and lulu isn't around right now, and angel seems to have skipped on this game. It's just the three of us, isn't it, Dylan and Cure? Funny how that happens.
Angel had such a cute avatar during the last game I hosted—when I had everyone swap their avatar to baby animals. There's quite a few animals for avatars here, too. I mean if we count Dylan's avatar as half of an animal (since I think it might be a robot?), that's 3.5 animal avatars in this thread alone. I apologize if I'm counting it as half an animal, Dylan. It looks so intimidating against that softly colored sky, but spiders aren't typically supposed to be that size so I'm left assuming it's actually a robot, as is your tendency. Which is fine, but it's still half an animal to me since it's just pretending to be one, really. I think you'd like it being a robot more than an actual spider. I don't think anyone would like to see a spider that big—but a robot. Now that's something. Imagine how much of the world you could take over with that thing!
The other (actual) animals in the thread are kind of cuter. Duck's duck is obviously meant to be cute since that one came up during the aforementioned phase of my game involving baby animals. I seem to recall being asked for my opinion on that one, too? Or maybe I was just shown beforehand. I can't really remember. I've never had duck, but apparently a lot of people have—then again, I haven't eaten most things. Isn't that sad? I've been told it's a bit of a problem, and particularly Kiyo and Mitsu seem hellbent on rectifying this problem. I've tried some food at Kiyo's recommendation—and Dylan and Blaire's, those guys are awesome—and it was good, and I admit my food-ignorance is probably a thing I need to work on. Don't worry, though, Duck. I may try to take a bite at you during a mafia game, but I won't roast you and serve you on a plate, I think. Blaire might. Blaire probably would. You should probably avoid advertising your services to Blaire.
Actually, coming back to food-ignorance, that's how I got to know Five a little better. Five probed to see if I had had BBQ ribs in Literary mafia and, truthfully, I had not. I saw Dylan call Five “combat-lux” in my game, and I'm not sure if that was due to her new avatar—I think the name is Minerva?—or just being like me but more... combat-oriented... or something... but either way, whenever I look at her avatar now I'm just thinking... is that me? Is that what I'd look like in combat? I mean it's a lovely avatar, full of my favorite colors. Well. Okay, I have a love/hate relationship with red. It's beautiful, it is, but I don't really like wearing anything red. It stands out too much. So maybe that's the combat part of combat-Lux. Standing out and being bold.
I don't really know who Minerva is, but I'm guessing it's a character from an RPG, since I know Five plays a lot of those. Well, most of the players here seem to play a ton of those. I mean just of the ones in this game, at least Lucas and ezzelin also have RPG characters as avatars, I think. I don't know much about the Persona series, which Lucas' is from. Actually, before I knew that avatar came from persona, I just thought it was a character that fit Lucas quite a bit for some reason. Maybe that's just bias because it's what I see a lot of the time whenever he posts. He had some guys with an apple or something before... and also an apple. And just generally other avatars than his current one. Still, the blonde hair and yellow shirt are just so striking. Lucas has posted a selfie and I can't remember if he dyed his hair that color. I think he dyed his hair. Maybe the avatar isn't a perfect match, but the art style is great.
I wanted to say that ezzelin's avatar is another one from an RPG, but now that I'm thinking on it, I am pretty sure it's purely from a manga series or two that had an anime adaptation to some degree. I bookmarked all of them somewhere. I do that for a lot of recommendations. I actually haven't really read all that many manga, if at all—isn't that sad? I keep hearing suggestions, though, like the one ezz's is from. I think she swapped back to that avatar recently. I kind of thought she was a guy at first when she played under her first avatar. Well, this avatar is a guy, too, so I guess it's not really indicative to any degree. It has that same red focus I just noticed for Five—well, kind of orange. I wish I had a feather like it. It's so fluffy. I love feathers. There was a rhyme we had to learn in kindergarten over here. Yankee Doodle went to town / A-ridin' on a pony; / Stuck a feather in his cap, / And called it Macaroni. I always remembered the feather, but I forgot the lyrics a little bit, and upon checking just now I realized it's my state's anthem. Wow, maybe all of my friends calling me a Yankee was more accurate than I realized.
I'm kind of disappointed now that I incorrectly thought ezzelin's avatar was from an RPG, because I sort of did a run-down of the avatars and determined there were four game-related ones. But I guess there's only actually three, with Katagi's being the now-third. If you don't know what it's from, I'd either be doing you a service or disservice by telling you, depending on your various preferences. Needless to say, I was a bit surprised to see Saya running about on crywolf. She is pretty cute though. I can't really fault anyone for showing off a cute girl. I mean, I do that with all of my avatars. I guess that's another thing in common: both have blue hair. And I have such a weakness for blue hair. I kind of recently made a few bets related to dyeing my hair blue. I lost all the bets, too, but I'm a loser and I conveniently never reminded anyone. That's a lie, actually; I complained to everyone that I'm too chicken to do it. So I guess I am not going to dye my hair, and everyone learned to not waste time making bets with me.
I can't really mention blue hair without bringing up Rasei in the same sentence, of course. I remember your first avatar—the girl in it was so cheerful and she was cute and kind of innocent! I guess big heads do that, which she had. Your newer ones have appropriately-sized heads. I'm always excited to see what you conjure up for each game with the rinmaru character creator. I guess you didn't make one for this game, so maybe you're just some kind of a farmer, memeing it up with your apple whenever you're relaxing. Whatever the case, you're better than me; your hair is blue. It's probably not blue in real life. In fact, I have no idea what your hair is like in real life. It very well might be blue! Maybe you can join the elusive blue club several other members here have been part of or are currently part of on crywolf.
The rinmaru maker is great, though. I love how it keeps coming up for so many upick games. I mean, it's a perfect way to customize a character. It started with Gakuen, right? That makes sense and it sounds right, so I'm going to assume it's true. It is true, by the way, I'm just padding at this point. I do that a lot—I pad things. Needless to say, I appreciate detailed posts and setups, so Gerry's was just so fascinating to me. His avatar is a character from that game. I'm surprised he's never once used a bear, as far as I can remember, given all the ones in his room (so adorable tbh). His older avatar was nice—another rinmaru reporter character—but this one is super cute. She's great. I'm realizing now that the characters in these rinmaru avatars kind of look a bit smaller due to centering, but that's okay. I just wish I could see more of her blush, for example, or what details were chosen for her eyes. But the ribbon—so cute, but also red. Red keeps coming up. Am I being told something by the universe?
I can't even remember what started this ramble of mine, honestly. I think it was something to do with Cure and Tet and Cure's drawing of them. Did anyone else find the twincest a little strange? I can't be the only one. I prodded Raie over the fingers being tangled in one another's hair and whatnot. Subtle things. Cure's art isn't exactly subtle, though; it's full of strong, sharp angles and bold colors. Kind of like her, so it fits, and I like it. The one she drew for herself is so mysterious, but Tet's has this weird smile and—let's be honest, I have a lot of trouble picturing Tet smiling. I sort of just assume he's always in this state of suspended belief and irritation, but that might just be what I experience whenever he's talking to me. I suppose the same things I said of Cure can apply here to Tet. Actually, Tet is a complete softie—don't believe his charade. Have you seen his bunnies? They're so cute and adorable and fluffy. I didn't even know I liked bunnies that much until I saw them and videos of them eating. Like, honestly, how do you compete with bunnies anymore? Or Tet for that matter?
Tiki has a drawing for his avatar, too. He didn't draw it, though. That was Anna. I miss Anna. She was Aistaraina on the boards, I think. Well, that's the name I knew her by. I've known her for over eight years. Most of you don't know her, I'm guessing, since she came and went after only a couple rounds. But Tiki's avatar is her lasting legacy, so I guess in a way she's still here. Wow, she didn't die, Lux, is what some of you—probably Cure—are saying as I typed that last part. Either way, I like to think Tiki's a lot like his avatar. Bubbly and happy. He is that, you know? I haven't met many other people as positive and heartwarming. Maybe he doesn't spend all of his time eating goats. That's another thing I haven't eaten, by the way, if we're keeping count.
You know—I made a comment to Cure a moment ago, and that reminds me, I'm surprised she's never commented on Ace's avatar to him. Maybe she did. She probably did. I tend not to notice these things. But anyway, Cure loves owls, and I'm guessing Ace does, as well, since his avatar happens to be one. I've kind of grown fond of owls in recent years. I've known so many people that like them. I got a little figurine of one during the holidays this year, so that's cute. It's kind of annoying, though; I have to move it from my monitor's stand whenever I move my keyboard back to play Love Live on my desk. It's not as cute as Ace's, though. It looks a lot like a patchwork owl, actually. Ace's, I mean, not mine. I wouldn't mind a patchwork owl. Do you happen to know the artist, Ace? That's such a lovely style and I'd like to see more like it, honestly.
I was going to make a comment about Aeiou's being another avatar that's kind of hand-drawn like the others (technically, all of our avatars are drawn by someone), but now that I look at it, I cannot for the life of me figure out what I'm looking at. I'm guessing it's a weaselly animal. Aeiou tends to like those. I had a friend that had a ferret in elementary school. I have no idea how ferrets are real. That thing managed to get into closed containers and lock itself in there. I always wanted a ferret, but I probably will settle for cats. I expected Aeiou to have one, but I think she has a dog, from what I saw of her twitter. A dog might make more sense than a weasel-thing, like her past otters and ferrets. But this avatar has wings, too. Is it a character? I... I really need to know what it is now, honestly. I just hate unsolved mysteries. It's partly why I play mafia. I like figuring things out.
Speaking of figuring things out, I just tried to google search Ninfia's avatar to figure out what it's from. I mean, I have some educated guesses from talking to her. She loves her feelsy manga/fanfic—especially of the DGM variety. The amount of times she's just flopped over in a mess from the relentless tidal wave of feels—it's adorable. Anyway, I did a search and apparently! These boards are the first result! I guess that makes sense since the source is going to be much larger, but that was a bit of a surprise. Sadly, this means I don't get to learn if any of my guesses are correct as to the guy's identity. It's a lovely art style, though. I love doing straight lines like are on the vest whenever I sit down to draw. I don't sit down to draw, by the way, but if I do—that's how it looks sometime. Except, you know, a lot worse. And with hair drawn half that well if at all, because hair is ridiculous. Don't ever draw hair. Or hands. In fact, let's just forget about the whole ordeal. I just realized that character is standing in tall grass and not a wheat field like I originally thought. I am learning so many new things today when I actually look at people's avatars.
This is kind of opening my eyes. I always just associate avatars with the people posting, to where I don't even check the name—I just know it's them. But I never really looked deeply at the avatars until just now. I guess in some ways, I feel like I know their owners a little better? Is that weird? It's probably a little too serious. I've been told I'm serious a lot. I try not to be, though. I just want to have fun.
Anyway, I guess we should find the mafia.
