Actually, I've had a couple thoughts since seeing this (was out eating chicken wings at midnight with Jaiser, so couldn't respond right away, heh).

1. Someone used an ability on me that duplicates the quirks I get and gives them to other players.
   
2. Someone used an ability on me that gave me duplicates of two other quirks.
   
3. Someone used an ability on Tet and Ninfia, and I just happened to get the quirks.
   

I hope it's the first one, because the other two make me sad to think I wouldn't be targeted by anyone for a quirk two nights in a row. (Though I guess the 2nd one is sort of a roundabout way of giving me a quirk.) :(

Maybe, but it's conveniently both quirks that Tiki was targeted by and that seems like a very strong coincidence. I think if any of the quirks are fake, they're probably the ones Tiki was hit by. Could be a mafia ability to fake other quirks (or copy other quirks? dunno).

I never expected something I was hit with last night to come back into my life in 2016 but here I am.

anyway, some thoughts.

I'm not especially suspicious of duck because they did say that they had not caught up with the thread before the outed their question role. I mean, the reasoning is weird and the reveal is weird but. Cure, u don't need to jump down ducks throat over every lil thing, ok. . .

that being said, Cure is right that a question asker isn't really a high priority target? its going to really depend on who uses it. It is also probably not really necessary to out roles unless you have reason to believe they're mafia abilities?

something people haven't really brought up yet is the possibility of the mafia.... lying about not having quirks but still using them sneakily? I was initially somewhat wary of cure because she claimed to not have a quirk then. stuck to it. It's not out of character for her to do something of that nature though, and the cluster fuck of shit used on her kind of makes me not especially suspicious for now.

I guess the way things could work is the mafia gains something if people do their quirks instead of giving something to the people who use it. Which is unfortunate since it means that we could be boosting the mafia by using the quirks. I'm a bit worried about Zalgo.

re:repeated quirks. it's entirely possible that one of mine or Tiki's quirks is fake in some way. It seems like no one else has a doubled up quirk so.... hm. Tiki and I are pretty strange targets for this tbh if it is a mafia ability. maybe they get extra uses on odd nights? maybe there's an ability copier? who the fuck knows. I can only really say that I've filled all my quirk obligations at this point so I guess we'll see. The next people to get Zalgo should maybe not use it, especially if Tiki or I ends up jailed?

In terms of lux getting hit with four abilities, that's pretty neat I guess? it makes me not suspicious of her, especially since she's being forthcoming with information. I feel like with a jail really fucked with her quirked abilities, unfortunately so that's a pretty big hit for town, especially if she got something good :(

I think Tet and I may have copied roles too, though? Given we both had posts of just "X." Though, assuming we both did it right, the parameters for his quirk were slightly different.

I was using the comic sans before d1 even started. Before the GAME even started. Why would I fake a real quirk before I could have gotten it.

Did this actually count as a single question? From my own past experience as a question asker in a Kiyo (and Cure) styled game, compound questions are not allowed. The one you list above technically has two questions, I think, unless Kiyo elected to treat the second half as a condition for the first question.

She'll probably tell you she can't clarify if you ask her about it, though. I don't know.

Also, regarding your own quirk and role for night one, did they work as precisely as you imagined? Vague or discrete works for me here, if you prefer.

For now, I am not suspicious of Cure due to both the rollover and other reasons. This isn't concrete, of course. It does go without saying that a mafia might elect to fake a quirk or conceal the fact that they had a quirk. I think process of elimination might help us as the game goes on.

The zalgo one is one I'm not sure how to process. I have a hunch it might have come from a town*. That said, if 100% honest in description the role it provides is a bit ambiguous in the alignment it favors, though it can skew. It's actually not the one I think to have jailed me, if mafia or town did not do it directly (and this does make me very curious as to who or what may have jailed me). If you guys actually want to reveal the role itself in thread, there's the option of both you and Tiki posting what it is and I'll tell you if it lines up with what I got. That said, this does not 100% guarantee veracity from all parties. So I don't know the best way to handle this. It might also be beneficial to not reveal what this role is in particular to possibly make mafia have to guess on how to play around it. This just made me realize something terrible...

I've got nothing. That said, I re-iterate: I am fairly certain there are multiple roles in play that can block the receiving/gifting of quirks. So the presence of multiple/similar roles that provide duplicate quirks might not be unheard of--I don't know. It is very strange.

The ability I got, tied to my quirk was pretty town-beneficial. I'm going to keep the quirk and ability vague for now.

Kind of makes sense to me though, stronger player. Raie is often a target early on too since she's vocal in-thread, but due to her claimed still-vanilla standing, I'm not surprised she didn't die. That said, I feel like Tet or Lux or Ninfia would have been good options too. Actually everyone's gotten a lot better since I first started playing, and we've pulled in more and more vdex alumni, so I'm starting to question my grasp of early-game meta.

Re: Same quirks
Just to make sure, there have been multiple pairs claimed, yeah? I'm less likely to believe there are two players with zalgo from the start of the game. I am more likely to believe one player can target multiple people. I am also likely to believe that there is some "viral" mechanism in the game, since that matches the flavor of memes pretty well.

I think we'll have more information the next day phase. In particular I'll be interested to see if the incidents goes up at all.

...But I don't get the Raie stun+block on quirk sending. Since it actions too, there are much better options (i.e someone who has demonstrated a quirk). Also, I feel like it would be in mafia's best interest to get more information on quirk identity. So far, I'm viewing this as a town action.

Confusing me a little right now. He was acting against town interests, but I'm having trouble constructing a larger narrative where he's mafia. I'll think more about it, but I've been wavering back and forth on how I feel about it.

Some stray thoughts:
--I'm one to talk this phase on post spec count, but I feel like a few players have kind of stuck to a quirk that has kept them from posting a whole lot of spec in-thread (ex: rage comics, though since then ninfia has posted well, so bad example).
--I'd still like to hear from vote: Ace, Lucas, and aeiou at least.

The duplicate thing is really strange, since there's two and its both of Tiki's, Im not really sure how mechanics on that would work?? like?? If they acted on Tiki and copied his given quirks how'd they end up on two dif targets, or if Tiki got two duplicates off two different people how did they both target tiki? Idk Im just dont even.

It was, and the way it was used confirmed, for me at least, that I did pick a great target to give it to. =D Very clever, well done. There was no evidence of it being used yet or not, however.
