... Tet if you used my ability on Lux, how were you able to investigate her last night/day? My ability lasts for two phases. You shouldn't have been able to act on her at all. The result should have failed. Even if the bus didn't mess with it (since you acted on her during the day phase), my ability should have negated anything you did to her.

I picked Lucas because you have to accept the quirk, and knowing what you know about the quirk now can you tell me with a straight face that Lucas would not accept it?

I picked Nella because I thought she was pretty under the radar that phase, seemed town, and would know how to use it.

I picked Katagi and Duck specifically because I felt they were the least likely to get hit with an effect that night that would prevent them from receiving it. At the time of sending, they were town in my eyes more than the next person but not someone who I thought would get hit like Lux or you.

Again, knowing what you know about the ability you know why it's effective to get it into a lot of hands.

See previous post where we specifically laid out that ability was not subject to the same targeting rules.

Okay but why would it be blocked by a jail but not by my ability that negates all actions to its target. :T

and why would you specifically target lux with a quirk that you didn't know how it worked when you knew my ability was in effect because you'd USED it and would know all actions on her from you would fail.

If it helps, I clarified before that the investigation isn't... your normal investigation, which Fia clarified as the actually town alignment cop meme.

Basically, you receive a quirk to post a conspiracy theory. At the end of the theory, you have to conclude it with a "[Player] is mafia confirmed."

Then if satisfied, the next rollover says that if you are not stunned or killed (CURIOUSLY MISSING JAIL, CAT-HOST), at the end of the night phase you will learn the truths about [Player].

Fia said the only thing that stops it is a jail or stun, apparently. Idk. I'm not sure what your role effect is that you gave him. Would it prevent whatever I just described?

My role literally makes it so two people can't target each other with any abilities or votes for the next two phases after it's used. he would have known he couldn't target you yet he chose to specifically make you his target for the quirk. When he didn't know what the quirk would do or what the rules for the ability would be. I want to know why.

So the conspiracy theory role effect just got explained.

To paraphrase, the actual "action" of the role transpires at rollover if we've satisfied the quirk. The only thing that will prevent it from returning a result is if we're blocked from acting (jail, stun), but we're not viewed as... actually performing an action in the typical sense (so for example, if I hadn't been jailed, I would not have actually visited Ace on N1, but I would've returned a result on Ace passively).

The quirk is not viewed as being an active role since we're more satisfying a quirk than anything.

tl;dr: The conspiracy theory "confirmed mafia" quirk gives a role that's a passive investigation on a specific target. It cannot be manipulated, but it can be impeded by stun or jail.

Okay, but when you get the quirk (not the ability) does it say anything like that ? Or does it imply you're making an action on someone when you do the thing. That's primarily what I mean. Like, why would Tet act on the person he knew he couldn't act on unless he literally didn't think about it at all actually that's entirely plausible I'll just assume it was that.

It says nothing of an action in the quirk. It just says, paraphrased, "Rant about a player in a conspiracy theory format for X number of words, ending in, Player is mafia confirmed."

I had no idea what, if anything, would happen if I used satisfied the quirk*.
