Hello, just a clarification to stem any future questions:

Sending an item is different from using an item! If you wish to gift an item to another player, you need to attach it to a message you're sending to that player in the same phase - this won't use it up or anything, and the player you gift it to will receive it next phase! If you wish to use an item, follow the instructions you may have received when you got the item on its use.
