I started at the church and died in the residential area. Of course, my body was found at the church, so I don't know what this implies exactly.

CHURCH
The alcove houses an assortment of objects, only half of which look even remotely religious in nature. Behind a glass case affixed to the wall, you see a handful of objects, mounted and labeled in barely discernable script. A white, cloth-colored rod takes center stage. Upon closer inspection, it’s an antique parasol. The joints in the aging metal handle are clouded over like blindness, but the white fabric remains a pristine snow white. In addition to the parasol, there’s a large ornate cross pinned to the wall, and beside that an old knife, fully rusted over.
The bottom of the glass case is a slanted wooden panel, angled to display the covers of a selection of books. None of the covers are bear lettering upon their surface or spines. In the center is a heavy, metal and leather volume that might be a bible. To the left, a smaller book bound in threadbare cloth with a gold cross stamped on the cover. To the right, a ring-bound notebook, its pages yellowing.
Outside of the case are a handful of newer artifacts. On each of the walls flanking the glass case are wooden shelves lined with trinkets, like cabinets of curiosities. Some are nondescript, natural objects. Seashells, tree branches and pinecones, rocks, and a few geodes. Others are man-made, a magnifying lens, a music box, a teacup. On one shelf, there’s an entire collection of empty picture frames. None of these items are labeled. You haven’t the slightest idea what any of them are for.
On the ground, beneath the leftmost shelf, there’s a lantern. This one is more modern, and the lack of dust on its glass surface, as well as the condition of the half-melted candle within, indicate that it’s been recently used. You don’t think anyone will miss it, if you take it with you.
Item Found
LANTERN
A large lantern with a handle built in for easy carrying. Inside the glass, a half-melted candle can be seen. Such an item might be useful for illuminating dark places should you venture out into the night. Either way, a lantern is nothing without a flame, though you get the eerie feeling that this lantern doesn’t need one…
You cannot use this item on other players, but you can use the item in general.
What is your next step?
Light a prayer candle
Look at the paintings
Enter the cemetery
Visit the library next door
Follow the side road south towards the school
