That was part of it. But not entirely it. The neutrals make this game inherently unbalanced. There is no incentive for the town-allied neutral to keep the information they have to themselves because they want town to win. So. Basically. They can publicly clear a townie every phase. The mafia-allied neutral cannot do the same.
Also: the amount of bullshit roles town has. Mafia had: A stunvig (single use). A miller roulette (that either mostly did nothing or had bad things happen and we never got it to work). And, me. Our upgrades were: We got a bus (yay) and a role that was literally "IF THIS DEMON IS IN PLAY, THEY WILL KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND YOUR ALIGNMENT" What the fuck kind of role is that? Also the third one is me, again. It seems to me, that all the demon roles were written as town roles before the mafia was rolled. Which means, whoever was the mafia, got stuck with whatever town role they would have had if they were town... which is... kind of dumb and doesn't really help mafia who already had a lot going against them. our upgrades helped us in no way. The only upgrade that helped us is the one I got, after everyone else was dead. Hooray.
ADDITIONALLY: Global watcher, DAILY UPGRADE WITH A GUARANTEED ALIGNMENT REVEAL, Passive protect that reveals who their killer is (I don't know what Alca's original ability was, since this seems to be in ADDITION to her ability. wowowow), roulette cop/doctor/stun, investigate (idk what drandahl was before he upgraded but I suspect it was regular cop), RELIABLE ALIGNMENT REVEAL, dedicated stun, dedicated doctor. A REVIVER does this really seem balanced in comparison to a stun and a rolecop. IN ADDITION TO the fucking OP neutral role.
Yeah, the stuns screwed us over, but there was no way we were winning this game even if that hadn't happened. The fact that Chinomi was able to instantly clear townies like that so you could just figure out who we were based on process of elimination even though I was playing ridiculously pro-town (None of you seemed to have any reason to suspect me other than "well Cure is the only one left so she must be the mafia!!!).
Also the fact that I investigated Kiyo N0 and was told she'd only act on odd nights, so we were going to plan the next night phase around it and then--oh, whoops!! changed to even nights, didn't help much.
I'm sorry, but this game is just... so... glaringly unbalanced, and on top of our shitty luck I have been really sore about it for the entire time, and I usually don't get grumpy about losing mafia games.
