Cry Wolf
Cry Wolf is a brand new forum focused on the forum version of the deception game Mafia/Werewolves
Pochamachan:
You are the typical chuunibyou... if not for the fact that your superpowers are actually real and play up the dramatic facade specifically to hide that fact. Little do your classmates know, your whole contrived act that you're a hero imbued with mystical powers is the complete and utter truth. They should be proud of you!
Every night, you will be given a different power (PM'd to you at the start of the night phase) randomly selected from the list of roles present in the game. You will not be told whom the power belongs to, and any identifying flavour will be stripped from the role. You will only receive player’s role abilities, and not relationship abilities. You will retain whatever ability you have for the night and the next day phase only.
If you are given a passive ability, it will be active by default.
If you are given an active ability, it will be paired with a random word, which is your attack phrase. To use your active ability, along with PMing your use of the ability to me, you must use your attack phrase in at least one of your posts during the phase you plan to use your power. If you fail to do this, then your action will fail, regardless of whether or not you sent in your action. In terms of inbox priority, your ability's priority is set as whenever you post the random word that makes up your attack phrase, and not when you send in the PM (unless the PM is sent after you use the word, in which the PM takes priority).
However, since your classmates really don't believe that you have any sort of magical powers whatsoever, you will show up as vanilla town to anyone who attempts to investigate your main ability or your relationship ability. Your ability can be copied by other players, should role copiers exist in the game, but they'll just be given a vanilla town role instead. To them, you're just some weird normal student. But you know the truth.
Relationship Ability: Anyone who even dares associate with you will probably appear just as weird as you, huh? If your partner is ever targeted with a role that involves either copying or investigation of their role, their role will also show up as vanilla, because who would ever believe what their role really is?
Kiyoko:
You are some egotistical loser with a stalker crush on alcasync. You think you're all that and a bag of chips and act the part (complete with some crown you probably stole from the drama club). Really, you're more like the slimy bottom of the ramen cup that you eat every night when you huddle up to your laptop screen and make smarmy social media posts. Disgusting.
You start off as vanilla, but you like to act all high and mighty after seeing what everyone else can do in the class. Maybe you think it'll impress alcasync, I dunno. For every action that targets you, you will gain one usage of that ability. This includes kills - if you are ever targeted by a kill (this includes the mafia NK), you will survive and gain one kill.
If a player repeatedly targets you with their abilities (or you get targeted by the NK and then a vigilante kill later) subsequent uses of their ability will not give you the ability to use their powers multiple times. If you are targeted by any relationship abilities, you will not be able to copy them and use them as your own. Any abilities that you are able to use will be stripped of any identifying information about the player it is associated with.
In addition, due to your loud and pushy personality, if your vote is ever part of a tied lynch, the player you vote for will always be lynched.
Relationship Ability: Frankly, your attachment to alcasync is nothing short of creepy, and the majority of the class thinks that you're a huge loser. Who would ever want to date you? Therefore, you are unable to send out confessions entirely.
However, if you manage to get someone to fall in love with you and enter a relationship with them, you will be told the names of all the players that they have ever visited, up until you initiated the relationship. This can only happen once in the game with the first relationship you ever initiate.
You're a loser, though, so should you ever break up with anyone (forcibly or not), your partner's social status will have dropped a rung or two, and they will have to wait one phase before initiating another relationship with someone else.
minji:
You are an aimless athlete with a cursed leg named NAOTO that is preventing them from participating in their sports activities. You're not quite sure how your leg got cursed, but it's rendered everything meaningless to you as a result. You're just one big ball of negativity, huh…? And negativity attracts more negativity.
Once in the game, you may choose to redirect all stuns, jails, and kills towards yourself, including the mafia kill detention slip. You'll be hit with all of them, sure, but your cursed leg will keep you tethered to life and you will not be sent to detention.
In addition, twice in the game, you may take advantage of your cursed leg and vote twice in the phase, with the second vote being sent to me via PM.
Relationship Ability: You've learned that your cursed leg brings nothing but bad luck, and it'll bring whatever partner you have bad luck, too. Should you ever enter a relationship with someone, the success of any active ability they may have will be reduced to 50%.
high seraph:
You are an overly cheerful student with a tragic past and a dark secret. While the details of what happened you are vague, they've hardened you into someone who is always on edge and fearful of others. A betrayal. A demon. Blood is splattered all over your hands, and you know it.
The last thing you want is for people to know what you really are…
You will be able to survive two kills or lynches in the game; you've seen some shit, and as a result, you have a heightened sense of danger. However, after you have survived your first kill or your first lynch, you will appear as mafia under investigation (but still be town and count towards the town ratio, so don't go all evil on the game yet).
Relationship Ability: The pain and suffering you've endured have caused you to cherish every opportunity; if your relationship partner dies while you are in a relationship with them, you will be unable to form new relationships for the remainder of the game.
If your relationship partner ever dies, you can choose to have your ability be replaced with their original ability as a way of remembering them as a replacement for your own. If they had a limited use ability, you will start out with the full number of uses.
stun and kill will null bulletproof
will not be notified of what the replacement ability is
Tetsuya (Cur3):
You are the charmingly attractive of the douchebag twins that no one can tell apart who consider everyone else vastly inferior and not worth their time. Stepping on people's faces and belittling them is the name of your game, and you are sure to make your view of everyone heard. Every night, you can insult a player incessantly, demoralizing them so much that they will be stunned out of their night ability.
If Cure is alive, you also have the following extra abilities, since no one can tell the two of you apart anyways and you might as well be the same person:
On odd numbered nights, any actions directed at you will passively redirect to Cure
You can never target Cure with your ability, since your twin is the only person you can bear in this entire school. Any attempts to target Cure with your ability will fail. Should Cure perish before you do, you will be utterly devastated, and your stun's effectiveness will be reduced to 50% for the two nights after her ... sending to detention.
Relationship effect: Since you and Cure are twins, the two of you can send messages to each other through the host in a similar fashion to individuals in a relationship (and as a consequence of this, you two can never form a relationship with each other). In addition, since you consider everyone else vastly inferior and not worth your time, anyone who sends a confession to you will be automatically rejected (though you can send a confession to other players); you’ll be notified of who sends you confessions, though!
Mr. Gerbear
You are a sharp, intrepid news hound whose lack of social skills often leads to misfortune; a techie, you are never seen without your trusty reporter's tablet. Your job is to dig deep to the truth, and while your title doesn't necessarily entail "detective", being the head of the school paper means that you know how to ask a few choice questions.
Every night phase, you may ask the host a yes or no question; the question must be under 30 words long, and cannot probe about the alignments of players ("Is x mafia?" or any variation thereof). I will respond with an answer that is either Yes or No - but ask carefully and clearly, since questions can be easily misinterpreted.
In addition, you itch to report news as soon as you find it, and as such you can PM me a short paragraph under 100 words long (complete with a news heading!) every phase that will be added to the bottom of rollover, but above the list of night actions and lynch results.
Relationship Ability: Once in the game, you may ask me whether or not a statement made by your relationship partner is true or false (once again, you cannot ask whether or not statements regarding alignments are true or false, and clarity is key!) - this does include anything sent in relationship messages! Should you discover a lie in one of your partner's posts or relationship messages, the two of you will immediately break up, because wow that's an awkward wrench in the situation.
- ambiguous questions with leeway are okay
- questions are treated as "ever" unless specified
Mr. Alice
You are a girl who works in the family business of dealing with spirits, demons, and other supernatural bullshit after school, who is usually kind of spacey and distracted during the day as a result and is often seen eating something in the background to regain energy. Despite the fact that you're probably pretty exhausted after a night full of exorcisms and shit, it seems like your duties might be called upon in the classroom.
You have two separate kinds of abilities. You can only commit to using one of them; using one of them will make you unable to use the other (e.g. if you communicate with the dead once, you're permanently locked out of reviving, and vice versa).
Twice in the game during the night phase, you can speak with a player in detention and ask them a question through the host. The player's answer is restricted to 40 words in length, and will be delivered to you at the end of the next day phase. If you choose to use this ability at least once in the game, then you’ll be too exhausted to try using your second ability, detailed below…
Alternatively, once in the game, you can harness the power of the spirits and have them … uh, spirit a player out of the detention room, reviving one player in the game. This takes a ton of energy out of you, though, and as a result you won't be able to communicate with the dead for the rest of the game. However, pulling them out of detention will strip them of any role ability they may have had.
Relationship Ability: Unlike most of the players in this game who appear to only want to date the living those not in detention, you're completely fine dating a supernatural monster or a ghost. Therefore, you can initiate a relationship and break up with someone who is in detention. Any relationship ability they may have had will be activated and work on you from beyond the detention door, and they can activate their relationship ability on you from detention, but you won't be able to send messages to each other.
Rasei
You are a wannabe detective fangirl that wants to make her big break, who also happens to be an overprotective sister. Every night, you can choose one player to investigate and learn their alignment. You're not really that good at playing detective right now, but maybe if you keep trying you'll get better as time goes on…
Relationship Ability: You're pretty overprotective, huh? Even though the person you're in a relationship with isn't your sister, you care about them quite a bit. If your partner is ever sent to detention, you will immediately learn the identity of their killer.
*Paracop at 30% success, rise by 10% with each successful investigation
Kotakia
You are the eccentric artist that thinks they're on the cutting edge of fashion, but no one has the heart to tell them they have no taste. These plebs wouldn't understand fashion if it hit them over the head with an iron mallet. But you do.
Every night, you can choose one player to dress up in an outfit of your choosing. Their outfit will be so extravagant that any attempts to send them to detention during the night phase will fail, as their appearance will be disguised by the outfit you've unceremoniously thrown onto them. Fashion is never forever, though, and you can't dress up the same player twice in a row. In addition, you can’t protect yourself; too many people know what kind of fashion sense you have, and you already kind of stick out like a sore thumb.
Relationship ability: Your partner is probably the only one that will ever "get" you, honestly. As a result, your fashion has an enhanced effect on them; they will be immune to any potential stuns and jails on top of detentions.
Doak
You are a local idol who very obviously spends way too much time getting ready for school in the morning. Having gone platinum early on with your first single doaki doaki, you bask in the attention that your role gives - though sometimes it's nice to live the calm high school life, too. With the school festival coming up, though, your talents might be needed more than ever…
Every night, you may put on an impromptu concert for a player in a classroom. The player will be protected from all kills detention slips that target them that phase, but will be jailed out of their action due to being distracted.
Relationship ability: Your music has the capability to open hearts and minds, and you’ll find yourself and your relationship partner having a good heart to heart to each other soon enough. When you form a relationship for the first time, you will learn of your partner’s alignment. This will only work for the first relationship you form during the game.
Sammiya
You are a girl that's almost constantly eating something, particularly sweets, and sometimes can be rather blunt and sarcastic if aggravated. On the outside, you're always eating something nice and sweet; licking a lollipop, chewing on some chocolate. Your life is pretty good, isn't it?
Every night, you can target a player and share a lollipop and some of that good highschool life with them. The player will be so humbled by your action (and energized by all that sugar) that whatever action they may take will be guaranteed to go through, overriding any stuns, protections, and redirections.
Relationship Ability: The moment someone targets your partner though, all gloves are off. Should your relationship partner ever be lynched, you can jump in the way and take the detention blow for them, going to detention instead.
Ninfia
You are a brooding hero that should probably be in a different anime. In fact, you can just go back there spontaneously. Twice in the game, you can escape to the anime you're actually from, avoiding any and all actions targeted towards you that night. It takes a lot out of you and the studio to animate all these crossovers, though, so you can’t hide two nights in a row.
In addition, you possess one vigilante kill (thanks to your trusty bow and arrow) that you can use only during the night phase. You can't use your kill while you're hiding, though!
Relationship ability: On nights that you choose to hide, you can also bring your partner along with you, taking them temporarily out of this anime and into yours. You can only do this once in the whole game, though!
Plotstickers
You are the childhood friend who wakes you up in the morning. It's up to you to make sure that everyone has their toast in their mouths like good students, as they make their run to school! Once in the game, you may wake the entire game up, triggering the next day phase prematurely. Any actions sent in after your action will fail.
Relationship Ability: Childhood friends seem to know everything, don't they? When you form a relationship with someone for the first time, you will learn of your partner's role ability, but not their alignment. This will only work for the first relationship you form during the game.
ezz
You are the irregular first-year whose life is devoted to science but really just loves explosions (which, incidentally, occur on the school grounds surprisingly often). You are a person of scientific discovery and initiative, and discovery in your very scientific dictionary is analogous to "making things go boom a lot".
You possess a bomb in your possession that you carry around with you. Everywhere. Even into the classroom. If you are ever lynched, you will detonate the bomb as a last-ditch effort to save yourself. Any player that voted you during the day phase has a 50% chance of being stunned as a result for the next night phase.
Should you be targeted in the night phase for a kill, you have a 50% chance of taking your killer down with you and stunning all other visitors that targeted you that night; the night phase is better, after all, because there are less witnesses. I mean, what.
Relationship Ability: Your relationship partner will always be immune to the effects of your bombs, you having told them to prepare for impromptu explosions every so often on the school grounds. Just a hunch.
chinomi
You are the animal-loving freshman who has a bad habit of taking her cat to school. The good thing is that the teacher usually turns a blind eye to your cat, but maybe that's because you do a really good job of pretending it's just an extremely lifelike and expensive plushie.
You have two separate abilities that you can do with your cat, but you can only use one at a time:
Every night, you can send out your cat to follow a player around. You will learn of any players that that player targeted, though you won't be told what the player's action was.
You can also choose to leave your cat with you while you're asleep; should anyone target you during the night phase, you will learn their names (but not what actions they took). You cannot do both at the same time because you brought only one cat to school! Any more and the school staff might get suspicious.
Relationship Ability: Should you ever enter a relationship, your cat will keep a lookout for you - if your partner ever attempts to act on you throughout the game for whatever reason, you will be passively notified by your trusty feline companion (and this will not use up your actual ability).
aeiou
You are a lost explorer who has a crush on everyone she meets-- wait, is she even enrolled here??
Twice in the game during the night phase, you can wander aimlessly into detention and learn the full role and relationship ability of a player in detention of your choosing. You won't be told of what or who killed them, though, since walking into detention by accident is kind of awkward and you'll probably shuffle back out. N-nothing to see here, uhm.
Relationship Ability: Since you crush on everyone you meet, you can be in 2 relationships at once, and be able to reap the rewards of your partners' relationship abilities in tandem. In addition, you can send players confessions without breaking up with your current partner(s).

But now, FOR SOME REASON, I have lost that ability.
WHICH ALSO ROBS ME OF A POSSIBLE WIN CONDITION, SO THANKS, WHOEVER
[1:37:48 PM] king of the bakas [lowercase edition]: Tiki's ability is as follows and since I'm here I might as well tell you what it is:
[1:39:26 PM] king of the bakas [lowercase edition]: *You can only use both of these abilities once.
- Select one player during the day phase. They will receive a temporary boost to their abilities for the next night and day phase only. You will not be informed of the boost.
- Starting on D4, you can select two players. These two players will be forced into a relationship against their will and break up with their current partners at the end of the phase.
[1:40:15 PM] king of the bakas [lowercase edition]: *re: the select one player during the day phase - because your ability allows you to use the abilities you steal in either phase, this can be performed either in the day or the night.
[1:40:39 PM] king of the bakas [lowercase edition]: - The action is immediate.
[1:40:44 PM] Avy: So I have both of these and may only use them once?

You are the trigger-happy delinquent who brings too much unnecessary weaponry to school. You bring knives to gunfights… and every other occasion. And what makes this classroom any different?
If a player targets you at any point during the night phase with an active ability, you have a 50% chance of retaliating and killing them, because really, it's not your fault if your finger's just a little twitchy. You don't have unlimited ammo, though; you can only kill one player this way in the entire game.
In addition, if anyone targets you for a lynch or a kill, you won't be going to detention without a fight; you'll take down either the person who tried to kill you or the last voter of the lynch.
Of course, the last people that you’d want to shoot are your friends that you’re in cahoots with: angelstar, Luxaria, Cure, alcasync, and drandahl.
Relationship ability: How much unnecessary weaponry can you even hold? During the game, you can generate a gun for your relationship partner to use. The generation of the gun will trigger an intermission ["A gun is now in play!"], and the gun itself will work as a regular vigilante kill that can be either used in the day phase or the night phase. You cannot give yourself a gun you already have so many
You can generate an infinite amount of guns for your partner to use, but you can only begin to generate them once you’ve been in a relationship with the partner you plan to give the gun to for three phases.
In addition, your partner cannot hold onto multiple guns at the same time; your partner must use up their gun first for a second to be generated. Once the gun they possess has been fired, you can generate a new gun 4 phases after the phase in which the gun was used.
Luxaria
You are the faerie princess of the woodland realm on a diplomatic mission to recruit teenage girls for the Misses Advancing Humanitarian Operations and Unity for Society's Hopeful and Overdue Undertaking of Justice and Optimism. You've come here for a mission, and by god you're going to complete it, even if it kills you. Repeatedly.
As a faerie princess on a diplomatic mission, it is essential that you keep yourself safe at all times. Thrice in the game during the night phase, you may cast protective magic over yourself to conceal yourself from view, causing any actions targeted towards you to fail. After using your ability once, you cannot use it for two nights.
Your high embassy of the fairy folk made it clear that there are five other people you should trust as friends: angelstar, lulu, Cure, drandahl, and alcasync.
Relationship Ability: Once in the game during the day phase, you can choose to make a contract with your relationship partner, if you have been with your relationship partner for 4 phases or more. Upon completion of this contract, in which your relationship partner will have no say over the decision, you will "rob" one use of their ability and keep it as your own, whatever it may be from them.
If the ability is one that operates every x phases, you will gain one use of their ability that you can use in any subsequent phase (day or night), while the player you contracted with will lose the ability to use their powers for one day and one night. If the ability is one that is limited use and the player has not used all of their uses yet, then you will "steal" one of their uses permanently.
Should the player either have no uses of their power left or have a passive ability that does not mention “uses”, then you will be unable to steal it (though this will not use up your stealing ability).
Cure
You are the attractively charming of the douchebag twins that no one can tell apart who consider everyone else vastly inferior and not worth their time. You believe everyone is trash and you (and your twin) are the royalty of this trash kingdom, and it's up to you to guide the way. Once in the game, starting on D2, you can cancel out everyone's votes during the day phase except for yours, because no one can do anything right in this school except for you. The votes will remain unchanged in the vote tallies, and the game will not be made aware of your action unless the lynch target is changed. This ability will come into effect at the end of the phase, and can be used at any time during the day phase.
If Cur3 is alive, you also have the following extra abilities, since no one can tell the two of you apart anyways and you might as well be the same person. Any of these abilities will be removed should Cur3 die:
On even numbered nights, any actions directed at you will passively redirect to Cur3.
Upon role or alignment investigation, your alignment and role will appear as identical to Cur3's, and your true ability and alignment will be disguised.
If you choose to cancel out everyone's votes, Cur3's vote will be the only one not cancelled, since your twin is the only person who will ever get you; therefore, if you send in your action before Cur3 votes and Cur3 votes later on, their vote will be the only vote that counts alongside yours.
Other than your twin, there's only a very short list of folks you can tolerate:alcasync, angelstar, lulu, Luxaria, and drandahl.
Relationship effect: Since you and Cur3 are twins, the two of you can send messages to each other through the host in a similar fashion to individuals in a relationship (and as a consequence of this, you two can never form a relationship with each other). In addition, since you consider everyone else vastly inferior and not worth your time, anyone who sends a confession to you will be automatically rejected (though you can send a confession to other players); you’ll be notified of who sends you confessions, though!
angelstar
You are a klutz who photographs for the school newspaper and relies on her pet to get into slightly fewer accidents than she would otherwise.
Every other night, you can follow another student home and take a picture of them (you can also take pictures of people in detention). The picture will reveal their role ability, but not their relationship ability. You can also survive one lynch or one kill on your person by using your pet as a scapegoat, but after you do so, your clumsiness will alert anyone who you target that you have targeted them (though they won't know what you've done!)
The following individuals won’t mind your clumsiness though, since you’are working together: Luxaria, Cure, alcasync, lulu, and drandahl.
Relationship ability: Every other night, you may bump into your relationship partner (though you'll probably swear it was an accident!) and randomize the target of their night action, if any.
stun and kill will null bulletproof
alcasync
You are a generic japanese student who just wants a normal day at school for once. You just want an education, and if it means that you have to start a revolution in the school with your own bare hands, so be it.
One thing that you want that you definitely aren't getting is a normal day. You just want peace: no "detentions", no whatever. Just a peaceful phase. Once in the game, you may remove any important information from rollover.
If you scrub the night phase clean, any information triggered by actions, including the mafia night kill, will be removed completely from rollover. If you act during the day phase, the results of the day lynch and any actions that may happen will be erased, including the lynch flip of the player that is sent to detention (though all the events will still happen!). The ratio will also be omitted from rollover the phase you choose to act, though subsequent rollovers will contain the ratio.
Should someone be killed the same day you use your ability, whether it be in the night phase or the day phase, the game at large will not be notified of the fact that someone has died until the ratio is posted in the next rollover (the player will be personally notified that they are dead, and any players with limited use abilities that worked during the phase will be notified that they lost a use). As a whole, the game will not be notified that the player has died, nor which has died.
You will be informed of the true appearance of rollover after you use your action.
Since you're probably the main character of this anime, and because no one ever expects the main character of your typical high school anime to be the true villain, you will show up as town under investigation and at death.
School isn't all bad, though. You have your trusty study group: lulu, Cure, Luxaria, drandahl, and angelstar.
Relationship ability: As the main character of this anime, you can create a harem for yourself and be in two relationships at once, reaping the relationships of multiple relationship abilities (if possible) at once. You can also send confessions while in a relationship with someone. In addition, once in the game you may manipulate the vote of one member in your harem to match yours (not both!); however, this action will not be visible in rollover unless the lynch target is changed.
- removes everything from phase + intermissions
drandahl
You are the girl from your dreams -- actually, the girl from everyone's dreams... how'd she get in there? What are you, anyways? Some kind of dream demon?
Every night, you may target one player and enter their dreams for the night. The ensuing nightmares (how did you get in there, anyways?) will prevent them from using their night ability, if any.
Additionally, thrice in the game in either phase, you may select one player and write a message for them. If that player is in a relationship with another player, your message will override any relationship message that player intended to send to their partner that phase.
There's only five people you'll never disturb the dreams of: angelstar, lulu, Luxaria, Cure, and alcasync.
Relationship Ability: If you form a relationship with a role that receives investigations or messages of any sort, you will passively receive the results of any investigation they may do or messages they may receive.
Also acquires game messages with relationship ability, will receive a copy of the message overwritten at rollover
and the neutral:
Tiki the Troll
You are the big-boobied, naive sweetheart who is oblivious to any and all romantic advancement toward her, but loves being friends with anyone and everyone.
You really just kind of want to help actually and you swear you're not a pain. You`re quite helpful! You want to help everyone! You`re just well-endowed!
Every other day phase, you can select one player in the game. That player`s abilities will be boosted for the next night phase and day phase, though not all players will receive a boost!
You will not be notified of what the player`s role is or what effect you have given them, but they will at the start of the night phase after you act. The boost will only last until the end of the next day phase. You cannot act on the same player twice.
In addition, once in the game, starting on D4, you can push two players together, breaking up their current relationships and forcing them together into a hodgepodge of a ship (this will override any confessions they may have sent to other players). If for whatever reason one or both of the players are unable to form new relationships, your action will not be used up. The union will be mentioned in rollover as an action if it is successful.
Relationship ability: You're completely oblivious to whenever someone's crushing mad hard on you, so any confessions sent towards you will be automatically rejected (though you can still send confessions out). In addition, since you strongly believe that spreading the love is a good thing and not a bad thing, you can only be in a relationship with someone for one day and one night phase (after which the relationship will automatically be ended and you must move onto someone new).
Win Condition A: Successfully enter a relationship with at least 4 different players in the game, since you just want to be friends with everyone.
Win Condition B: Successfully create a relationship between a mafia and a town member. Should you achieve this win condition, you will not be informed of your win until the end of the game.
