Alright guys. Here comes likely the most comprehensive guesswork I've done in mafia in years. And it's in by far one of the most ridiculous games I've played in a long while. I have checked and rechecked the facts and speculations and arrived at something I think resembles the truth.
It's important the we move forward carefully, think critically, and think ahead the best we can.
Please break this apart if you think I'm wrong. And if you do, please back it up the best you can.

- Chapter 1: Our Roles in all of This -
So before we move forward with all of this, I think we all have to be on the same page about our submitted roles. While we have a general idea of what they do, we can assume some parts of them have been changed. Every one. There's no reason to assume that any role survived completely intact.
Examples are from a mix of confirmed town and not confirmed town:
- Role Mixup Examples:
Luxaria wrote:My original version had loot go to everyone in the thread. I see that Kiyoko has changed that aspect of it.
Tiki The Troll wrote:hey, Luxie got to use the Faerie ability! :D I'll admit, was kinda glad it was Alca who bit it, just because I knew her sacrifice would benefit Luxaria's. Though I didn't expect to see her again until tomorrow.
AliceofOz wrote:So about Alexander the Great. Alcasander had to pick 3 players to recruit for her army at the start of the game. You can guess what she could do based on the role name. She does NOT get information about their alignments and roles. The stun thing was something Kiyoko added by the way(I guess it makes sense.)
Another thing that I had added for this role was that if a soldier was the one who killed Alcasander another soldier would be notified about their alignment/role. So..did any one of you three get PMs? Kiyoko could've removed this though.
And then myself claiming that my role that Kotakia received had been changed from what I submitted.
From this, we can objectively assume this information is true. Roles have been changed. I wouldn't get hung up about a specific part of your role not appearing in someone else's explanation. I feel all the core tenants of the roles survived intact. That's what you should look out for.
- Chapter 2: The Fall of Alcasync the Great -
So Alcasync, from N0, has been cleared as Town. That is one of the few things in this game that is concrete. An attempt was made on her and was blocked. I'm sure every single one of us can agree on that. So keep that in mind so that we are on the same page. Her word can be trusted as accurate. Which is good, because she is an extremely analytical player and gave us good information.
From what we are to understand by means of AliceofOz, Alcasync's claims, and rollover, she selected soldiers for her great Alcasync army and she somehow discerned roles and some additional info from that.
The information given to us by Alcasync at first said that Mr Alice was not America, and that he did not send in the night kill. She did not say "Not Town" and she did not say "Not Mafia". She said not America. This is what makes me feel like she ended up with role specific information. So, trusting Alcasync. We need to assume going forward that Mr Alice is not the Kiyoko role.
She said nothing about me despite the fact she had to have known what I was. I will touch on that more later in the post.
Before she was killed, she dropped as much information as she could. Including the fact that she was convinced Nautilus was mafia. I feel if she had any more information to give us at that point, she would have. Because at that point she outed the investigative portion of her role as well.
So what we can take from this section is:
Mr Alice is not Kiyoko
Nautilus is mafia, and Kiyoko
I was not mentionedLets move on while keeping this in mind, we'll get back to Alcasync info later.
- Chapter 5...3: Kotakia's Rightful Suspicion of Me, My Role, and Dragon Treasure -
So after rollover into Day2, the time in which the dead rose from their graves and dragons attacked, Kotakia immediately voted me.
She was correct to do so based on what I think occurred. She has my role, so I more or less understand why she ended up with the results that she did. To explain that, I will have to fully explain her role since it is obviously out there as an investigative role. Please keep in mind that at no point did Kotakia explain any of this, and if what I say doesn't jive with her version of the ability she received, I imagine she'd say so.
Kotakia is Gregor Samsa, the subject of Franz Kafka's "The Metamorphosis". She started as Greg. A normal, vanilla happy townie guy. After 2 Days of not being stunned, investigated, roleswapped, or any other role effect that is not protective, she transforms and so does her ability.
She turns from Greg to Gregor. A lonely man who is delving into insanity more and more as he transforms from his normal self into a bug. Everybody hates him. Everybody is afraid of him. So he hides from everybody. Gregor shows up under investigation as "Nothing"
Once a night after he transforms, Gregor can visit somebody during the night and discern their role and alignment. If somebody visits Gregor's target, he scurries away in a panic with a 50/50 chance of gathering role / alignment info from either the target or the visitor. Gregor isn't told who's info they received.
Also the role has to post BZZZT every other post or he curls up and dies. It seems Kiyo got rid of that very obvious tell. Can't say I blame her.
I think what happened there is taking a little bit more shape, but just in case the role was changed around a bit and for general clarity I have to explain my role, my actions thus far, and how they relate to the current situation. As well as the Dragon Treasure I got last night for defeating the dragon.
Gonna condense the subsections into spoiler boxes.
- My Role:
My Role
I am the
Failed Genetic Experiment During Day Phase I can choose one of three form to transform into. The attached action to that form can be used as a night action during the next night phase.
However, after I transform there is a 50% chance of dying at the end of the next day phase. The second transformation increases this to 75%. The third transformation is a 100% chance of death. I can choose a form to begin play in.
These are the forms.
Defense Form: You become a Deathproof, and can prevent an attempt on your life. After this mode is used, it cannot be used again.
Protection Form: You become a Doctor, and can protect another player from a kill attempt
Stalking Form: You become a Lookout, and can discern who visited a targeted player at night.
This role is pretty interesting in that it's versatile, while also having a high chance of killing me making it risky as hell. In terms of sheer numbers, I statistically can only pick one of these roles to use reliably and safely.
And so
I started in Protection Mode and targeted Alcasync N0. I did this because from the N0 banter and her posts in previous mafia games, she looked like the most aggressive, strongest player. Happily, I was right. And the mafia made an attempt on her.
Alcasync had to have known my role since I was her soldier. She said nothing despite saying things about the other two people and divulging that information. I believe it's because she understood that it was an important role to keep hidden. I encourage anyone with doubts of me to reference this as likely my strongest defense, as we know for an absolute fact Alcasync was an investigative town role.D1/N1 I did not change from my protection role and I got meta and targeted Kotakia. I had slipped up earlier in the day and hinted maybe a bit too much that her role was important in an attempt to pretty much WINK WINK NUDGE NUDGE Kotakia into realizing that I knew the importance of her role, so I opted to protect her on the off chance someone caught that.
- Dropped More than a Few Hints:
T3tsuya wrote:
Like I said before, I think I know who got my role. I don't think it's exactly wise to say what it is yet. But if you just let it go for awhile it should become clear.
HINTITY HINT HINT WINK WINK NUDGE NUDGE EYEBROW DANCE
T3tsuya wrote:happy rollover. Stay safe. Use the buddy system.
I had hoped that if she understood that I knew the her important role, and by the next day she was not dead, she could safely assume that I was not mafia and target other people on our suspicion list. By the end of the day Alcasync started going ham and divulging everything she knew, and all her suspicions right before rollover because she thought she was going to die. I didn't think Mafia would target the same person twice in a row after the first one failed, and she was saying all of this minutes before rollover. I guessed Kotakia was still a better protection target, and I gambled and lost on that one.
Today I have already rolled the dice and transformed. I transformed into Defense Mode once conversation started up because I knew I had a lot of divulge and didn't feel like there were any more protective roles out there. I am still in Defense Mode, ironically giving me a 50% chance of dying by rollover. I felt the benefits outweighed the disadvantages in this case. I will expand on that more in the next section.
- The Dragon Treasure:
The Dragon Treasure
So earlier today, a freaking dragon appeared. And after 4 of us (Kotakia, Luxaria, Myself, and AliceOfOz) destroyed it. We each got loot.
Luxaria divulged that when she submitted her role, there were different loot drops for everyone and it was random. I believe that to still be the case based on what I received. My loot was very telling and requires some critical thinking like the rest of this.
I got this
You receive 1
Mostly-Correct Scrying OrbYou see in the orb:
- A mafia role swaps souls.
- Angry ghosts enjoy text jumbles.
- Town has 2 crime solvers.
One of these statements is false.
This looks like nonsense, but makes gives us some new information if we take into account some of the game's events.
The Angry Ghost has to be whatever the hell caused Luxaria's posts to go crazy earlier in the thread. That doesn't give us a ton of new information to go off of. But at least we know that one is true.
"The Town has 2 crime solvers" also seems true, but we technically have three. Alcasync was one, my role has an investigative aspect to it, and Kotakia's is also an investigative role.
Which means "A mafia role swaps souls" has to also be true. I'm not 100% positive what that means. But it is at least related to a mafia role. My guess is a role that might swap roles. Either in actuality or in investigation.
I think, given Kotakia's investigation role targeting me, I was either targeted last night by the Angry Ghost (Which I'm not sure about since my text is ok) or someone who swaps souls/roles/investigation results. I base this on Kotakia having no reason to lie about my getting a mafia result, and the fact that, like I mentioned before, Alcasync knew about and said nothing about my role. And then outed everyone she was suspicious about.
- Chapter 4: Where we go from Here, and who are the Baddies -
I strongly believe we can believe in what Alcasync left us, which means, again:
Mr Alice is not Kiyoko
Nautilus is mafia, and Kiyoko
I was not mentioned by Alcasync, for whatever reason you choose to believe she thought was strategic. Now, for my suspicions based on what we know.
Nautilus is off the table, they're Kiyoko and mafia. That makes the most sense and a good amount of people suspected her. This means Nautilus was America, and activated election. Which, if everyone remembers, was AliceofOz v Tiki. This occurred after a vote was moved off of Cthulu. So I am left with two possibilities as I believe Alice had a role that sincerely did nothing but help us.
Nautilus activated Election when it was Tiki v Alice, knowing Tiki was currently lynchproof to try to clear them of suspicion. Making Tiki Mafia
or
Nautilus activated Election directly after the vote moved off of Cthulu to save him from a lynching. Making Cthulu Mafia.
I think both are people we can't completely clear. But if I go into it based on the information we have. I can say, at least myself, that I confidently think Tiki is the accomplice mafia.
Here's why.
- Spoiler:
Immediately after the lynch Tiki The Troll wrote:I'd argue this pretty much clears AliceofOz and I of being Mafia.
He got extremely defensive and lashed out when I asked him about his role up to and including trying to place the spotlight on me as the person asking.Conveniently missing from any of Nautilus' suspicion lists. An entire thread's worth of generally scummy post that lead me to have not a lot of trust. Tiki The Troll wrote:As for my role...
Seriously. I have no idea how it ****in' works.
AND THE FANTASTIC "AFTER I FINISHED THIS AND UPDATED MYSELF ON THE THREAD BONUS"
Tiki The Troll wrote:
...
I kinda wanna kill Lux again now, just to see if she can possess the dragon.
Kiyoko wrote:I N T E R M I S S I O N
Luxaria was killed again. She was still a Faerie. She was still town.
It's enough to sway my vote in a world where they only need 2
*NOW ONE* kills to win and we have not managed to grab a single one of them.
The third mafia member from this, we can assume is either Mr Alice or Cthulu if my thinking is correct.
Alcasync is the fallen Alexander
Luxaria is the fallen Faerie
Kotakia is Gregor Samsa - An investigator role
AliceofOz is The Dragon Mother - Helped us immensely with loot
I am the Failed Genetic Experiment - Alcasync was protected by me and said nothing when she knew who I was.
Tiki is an Unknown Scummy Sock Collector
Nautilus is Kiyoko and Mafia
Cthulhu and Mr Alice are Unknowns. And we're missing a ghost.
Both of them have typing quirks. Cthulhu has been speaking in rhymes. Mr Alice has been speaking in jumbled, spaced words in virtually every single post.
The difference between these two is that Cthulhu has actually broke character and not spoke in rhymes at points. And has pointed to Mr Alice directly after rollover. Alcasync also posed that he could not have contributed a night kill N0.
Mr Alice has virtually, completely, totally, contributed actually nothing. He has come into the thread in a few moment to exclaim surprise in jumbled letters that I feel are consistent with a letter jumbling ghost. He was on very early this morning when Luxaria's posts became jumbled again and that's backed up by a post made at the time it happened. There has been no defense, explanation, or even gameplay from Mr Alice.
I sincerely believe Tiki, Mr Alice, and Nautilus are the mafia.
Given that Nautilus and Mr Alice are stunned today and cannot take night actions. I think we should lynch the one remaining member that can send in the night kill to prevent it.
That is why I am
Voting: Tiki unless something insanely concrete and fact shattering comes up. If I live past this phase, I will
vote Nautilus the next day, and
Mr Alice the day after that. I will hold fast to these votes unless given a reason not to.
Chapter the Last
If, after this entire thing, you still feel I'm mafia. Lynch me. There is a chance I'm going to die regardless. But I would think really, really critically before you decide that'd be best decision and there are no better leads than me.
If you think I'm lying about being bulletproof, you lynch me, I die, and I'm a town. That's game
If you think I'm bulletproof, but mafia, you lynch me, I don't die. That's game after NK.
If you think you're uncertain and decide to lynch because I'm bulletproof. Shield breaks. I don't die. That's game after NK.
If we lynch a mafia, the only one I think that can send in a night kill specifically, then we're in a position to win.
If someone wants to back up my role as their submission, please do. Alcasync trusted my role. I explained it to the best of my ability. It's up to you to take what information I gave you and do something with it.
