Okay well I don't like to be the one to tip things but vote: drandahl, since they're the one of the currently voted people that I feel most confident in voting.

Time's up! Err...well, hesitant to No Lynch now, also a bit nervous to put anybody on the board already into the lead. So, uh...well, I suppose it's inevitable someone was going to vote this way sooner or later, so:

Vote: Rasei
For playing like...Rasei.

At least until morning! :D

Ninja'd: Well, so much for not tipping the balance. XD So, crap, uh, to even it out... vote: deo?

(Not Mr. Alice, 'cause...yeah, Sammie swayed me.)

Edit: And besides...when have I ever agreed with T3t? XD

Ok just throwing it out there, only one vote change is allowed according to the first post. So try to put some adequate forethought behind your votes before you put them out. Not directed towards you, just everyone here in general.

To be clear, in case there's confusion, deo is my first and only vote so far. I was going to start wit Rasei, but deo squeaked in a post before I got it out there. He seemed like a decent choice too, if only because he was the one to unbalance the vote, so...yeah.

So, I have one vote change left.

Vote: T3Tsuya

Because I REALLY HATE IT when people vote for people who can not defend themselves. Change your vote, I'll change mine.

It is scummy to me to vote for someone who can not speak up for themselves due to being silenced.

This is getting interesting.

I'm probably going to do Drandahl (activity) or no lynch, but I'm preoccupied at the moment, so I'll catch up on the thread shortly and see if I change my mind one way or the other.

If that's how you feel, I will back up your right to vote how you voted. I explained my own reasons for voting how I voted in full earlier, and I'll clarify it a little more now.

More than one person saw what I was getting at and mentioned as such. It's like Lux said earlier in responding to my post, I don't like the situation, I'm not a fan of the lack of information that we have, but I, personally, feel that it's the best course of action due to what we are aware of.

No Lynching for 2 nights in a row is unwise, we are being presented with a situation that doesn't make a ton of sense that is most often a fairly effective mafia play, and we have no other leads to go off of. If Mr Alice flips as town, like I said before, we at least gain knowledge of the nature of the Silencer ability. If they flip as maf, we got a maf, and we can analyze how people have handled this situation to get further leads. That is my logic.

I felt, and still feel, this is the wisest course of action. I don't like it, I'd rather we have something more concrete to go off of. But we don't. All of us have discussed all day and have not come up with much. Sometimes this is the way things roll out and I have found that thinking critically is more effective than avoiding all risk.

I will not be changing my vote because how I feel about the subject has not been changed. New information has not presented itself. I will not ask you to change your vote because frankly any activity is good activity. If you are voting based on the information that you believe is correct then we are on the right track.

At this rate I don't even feel like my vote will be relevant because, interestingly, people have been voting for other people on the basis of being inactive. But regardless of the result I'd rather reexplain and reassert my reasoning on the basis of being transparent than change my vote for no reason other than to cover my own ass.

OK
HERE I AM

tbh I didn't even think about the message and how it relates to how i was locked into room 1. as such i didn't think much of the message because i thought the message sender just chose the room randomly, completely overlooking that i couldn't get it because i was locked in the room BECAUSE I'M AN IDIOT

but then it made sense when someone (alca?) mentioned the message action was a player target and not a room target. this changes things a lot because i'm 90% sure plot sent the message due to the contents of it. so. she sent it with an in joke to SPECIFICALLY ME meaning she meant to reveal her identity when sending the message. let's suppose for a moment that the message sending role was mafia (which it could be but) why would she send it to me giving away her identity if she were mafia? that seems really townie to me.

NOW.
i'll feel like a fool if it wasn't plot.
i'll also feel like a fool if she's actually mafia.

BUT IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE THAT SHE'D REVEAL HERSELF LIKE THAT IF SHE WERE MAFIA she'd probably want to focus on sending out messages to townies to fool them instead of an in joke to me revealing her identity

DID THAT MAKE SENSE

Except for the fact that I'd be having the same exact reaction if any other player had been silenced and then had someone vote on them.

You do not vote on silenced players unless you are 100% certain they are mafia. It's taking advantage of the fact they can't speak up in their own defense.

I do understand T3T's viewpoint, however. We do need information, and at the current moment lynching may just be the way to get it.

I'm not going to change my vote quite yet since I don't want to be locked in, but it will either be a no vote or to whomever has the highest amounts of votes on them.

(Still preoccupied, but chiming in again in response to T3tsuya):

I mentioned earlier that I feel like Mr. Alice presents the most chance at information out of the players in the game due to the sheer nature of the role being used on her and the implications hidden therein. Objectively, this view has not changed, and lynching any other target has more risk and potentially less information. However, I also agree with others in that I want her to get a chance to defend herself, role claim, share whatever she knows. Even if we lynch her D3, I think the upside is such that we stand to gain more from her possible contributions, defense, and seeing who might side for or against her. It's basically the same net effect: Mr. Alice is lynched, except if it's done on D3 there might be more we can get out of it.

This said, who knows what will happen on N2. Maybe some rollover actions will immediately prompt a change of target and focus. We could, in theory, focus on new events and information while simultaneously grilling Blaire for all she's worth (literally).

The downside is that if this is an obvious mafia member, then we're effectively letting them set up shop for an extra round or two. Additionally, we have to wait longer to discover the nature of this silence role and what type of target it was used upon. Is the upside greater than the downside? I think it might be, disregarding the whole, "Let her get a chance to defend herself" argument.

What's more: There's a million ways we can WIFOM this entire situation. With five mafia, it's essentially guaranteed we're going to have at least one or two really experienced players that would know how to utilize silence effectively--assuming it is, in the end, actually a direct target and not a room target role. I'm always hesitant to play into mindgames if they can be avoided, and I feel like right now would be playing into someone's plan.

The reason I'd rather lynch someone extremely inactive--like Drandahl--is that for this phase in particular, it's virtually the same as knocking out the silenced player. If Drandahl doesn't reply, then well he lost his chance, we got rid of another passive voice (which I hope he understands), and we either snipe a mafia or strengthen town's ability to speculate through active discussion and having fewer unknowns. Mr. Alice can then be given a chance to defend, and we proceed from there.

Alternatively, the quiet target responds, we get some activity and information from them, and town benefits in the end.

@ Chinomi: Wait, I missed something. What was in this message again? There's nothing preventing a mafia from going straight for someone that is likely to vouch for them on the grounds of, "well the mafia probably wouldn't out themselves so quickly." But in this case, that's not an issue since you're just defending her.

I'll re-read the thread to see if I missed what it was you received in your fateful letter.

i actually don't think i mentioned exactly what it said but i hinted at it: it's a frozen reference/in joke between plot and i and that's literally it. i'm not sure if i'm allowed to quote it directly but it was the name of one of the frozen songs.

And did she include any information that led you to believe she was town? Or was it literally just,

"Chinomi, please, I know you're in there. The town are wondering where you've been. They have their pitchforks and they're trying to, dismember you, don't let them in."
